In the summer of 1943, as the United States was embroiled in World War II, a group of young women from across the country came together to form the All American Girls Professional Baseball League (AAGPBL). These women, ranging in age from 15 to 30, were all talented baseball players who had been denied the opportunity to play professionally because of their gender.

The AAGPBL was founded by Philip K. Wrigley, the owner of the Chicago Cubs, who saw an opportunity to capitalize on the popularity of baseball while the major leagues were depleted of players due to the war. The league was an instant success, and soon women from all over the country were flocking to tryouts.

The women who played in the AAGPBL were true pioneers. They faced discrimination and prejudice from both fans and opposing players, but they persevered. They played hard, they played fair, and they inspired a generation of young women to believe that they could achieve anything they set their minds to.

In 1954, the AAGPBL folded, but the legacy of these women lives on. They paved the way for women's sports, and they showed the world that women can do anything men can do.

We Were The All American Girls is the inspiring and untold story of the AAGPBL, as told by the women who played in it. This is a story of courage, resilience, and dreams fulfilled.
